On Photography-In Platos Cave
t is interesting to see the author to present the idea the power of the photography.
The sentence in the reading I like most is "To collect photograph is to collect the world". The part of the reading present the idea the strong point of photography. Photography can be a life portrait, a speech, and a personal knowledge. By collecting the photograph, people are able to read every single knowledge that the photographers want to give to audiences.
Also, I like the point that the author shows that photography can be memories, and it is the first function of photography that photographer used. This point make sense for me because of the fact that in my family, we start to have camera for keep the memories of childhood. Parents want to photograph the moment that there children born, the story their children growing up, and the time family to stay together.
But the memories are not always complete and images of family are usually only taken during happy moments. The power of the images comes from the fact that in being selective about what we remember - we attempt to control our past and our memories through images.
